Water-based gel used for moderate to severe acne and/or oily skin and acne on the back or chest. Clears up acne blemishes, blackheads, and whiteheads and prevents future breakouts.

The gel form is more potent than cream forms because it has a better rate of penetration into the follicle.  When applied to the surface of the skin, BP penetrates into the follicles and releases oxygen.  This oxygen kills the bacteria that cannot survive in the presence of oxygen.  Benzoyl Peroxide also has a keratolytic affect on the skin causing it to peel.  It is during the peeling process that the follicles are "opened up" and impactions can surface or be extracted.

Suitable for oily and very oily skin types.

Benzoyl Peroxide: An anti-bacterial ingredient that functions by forcing peroxide into the follicle where it releases oxygen, killing the anaerobic P. acne bacteria. It also causes peeling deep in the follicle, which loosens acne impactions and prevents new impactions from forming. It controls oil, reduces inflammation and is unsurpassed in treating all grades of acne.

Directions

Cleanse skin thoroughly before applying. Cover affected are with a thin layer. Because excessive drying may occur, start with one application daily, gradually increase to two times daily if needed. If dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or even every other day. Follow with moisturizer and sunscreen.
